ARTIST BIO

My practice stems from the concept of the everyday and its preponderance and placement in modern life. Amidst this concept is the utilization of spent, found and once misplaced items.

Richard Curtis’ film About Time was at the commencement of one’s interest surrounding the unnoticed. Everyday rhythms, silent patterns and the minute objects and occurrences, which are the key focus of Curtis’ within the motion picture, are crucial in relation to the representation of the mundane and unnoticed.

In an attempt to present these banal items to the onlooker within a commonplace environment, I have painted four objects onto the surface of the gallery floor.

More often than not, we find ourselves going about our daily routines and not noticing what is actually blindingly obvious. It is these things that we see every day but do not observe that I aim to bring to light once more.
